ABOUT ME

I have a BSc in Psychology which included practical experience in a hospital, this latter helped me to decide the Clinical Psychology route was not for me.  After doing a masters degree in IT my career path then took me into the world of computing where I found my niche in supporting highly stressed people with technical issues, later moving to more soft-skills-oriented support account management.  I was also involved in mentoring younger personnel, providing support for my peers and occasionally my customers. Ultimately, I realised that my interests still lay in helping people emotionally.

After a health issue made me re-examine my life I decided to re-train as a counsellor, drawing on my psychology background and using my much-practiced listening skills in order to help individuals on a one-to-one basis.  I loved my job but am now very happy to be retired from the corporate world and able to fully focus on my counselling practice.

I aim to help you deal with your current issues by integrating the most appropriate therapeutic methods into your support to facilitate you re-shaping your life towards how you would like it, whilst finding the new and stronger version of yourself along the way.

Having the right counsellor is the most important part of therapy so I offer a free initial consultation for you to gauge whether you feel we can work together.

I am fully insured, an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), registered Member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), trained by Cruse Bereavement Support and accredited with the Foundation for Infant Loss.
